Pain Contracts

  • The VMMA advises veteran patients NOT to sign any "pain contracts" for your VA doctors.
  • "Pain Contracts" are NOT VA forms, therefore they need to be questioned.
  • U.S. Congress passed, and it was signed into law, the "Veterans Pain Care Act of 2008, (HR 6445) which requires the V.A. to treat veterans pain, by law. (Pain Foundation - Newsroom)
  • The V.A. Ethics Board has recommended to veterans that we assert ourselves in requesting discussion/information with our VA doctors on the proper use of medical marijuana for pain and other medical conditions.
